Hanoi is the political, cultural, educational and social center of Vietnam and is also the birthplace of the education of Korean language/ Korean studies in Vietnam. After nearly 30 years of development, besides Hanoi, many new education centers for Korean language/Korean studies have been formed. The article aims to summarize the process of formation, development and the current status and position of the education of Korean language/ Korean studies in Hanoi in Vietnam so far. In particular, the article focuses on analyzing some characteristics of the current situation of the education of Korean language/Korean studies in Hanoi in comparison with other regions, especially other big cities of Vietnam. Consequently, the article will point out the advantages as well as the problems that the education of Korean language/Korean studies in Hanoi needs to address.
