For the process of formation and development of each ethnic, the role of the language is really important. Based on the concept of the heritage as expressions of national cultural values handed down from the past to the present and will continue in the future, Vietnamese language deserves to be accepted as a heritage with contributions to Vietnamese culture. Three attributes of a heritage including epochal connection, attachment to a defined subject, and bearing characteristics that create spiritual value, are used as core criteria for supporting the above opinion with three points: (1) Vietnamese language develops continuously from the origin to the present, (2) Vietnamese language is closely related to the developing process of national culture, and (3) Vietnamese language reflects Vietnamese consciousness and Vietnamese culture.
